meet the staff: vol 1
26 year old Editor-In-Chief Keisha Mitchell likes to have her way. Particularly when it comes to words, and this was proven in 2014 with the launch of her publishing company UPword Ink (“The Editor” Magazine).
“There’s never been a moment during sex that I forgot I was a woman and feminine, and that hasn’t ever been anything less than empowering to me.”
The creator of SAPIO first moved to Atlanta to attend Clark Atlanta University where she initially majored in print journalism but finished as a history major. Her favorite books include “The Autobiography of Malcolm X”, “The Odyssey”, and “The Bluest Eye”. She believes the sexiest thing about her is a toss up between her silhouette and her IQ (which at 17 was noted to be 119). The one thing she thinks every man should know?: “Women just want to be able to trust a man to lead. Even the strongest, most enterprising, most Amazonian of us. We all desire to reside in and be safe in our femininity. There’s never been a moment during sex that I forgot I was a woman and feminine, and that hasn’t ever been anything less than empowering to me.”
